Hey guys, I'm Barry and I'm a street dance video addict that's why I started CypherStyles.com. We've got 500+ videos and I've watched every single one. I want to know what videos you love (or love to hate). Personally a few of my current favorites are:
Red Bull Lords of the Floor 2 16 legendary US 2 man crews all with incredibly diverse styles battle at the top of their game, including Underground Zero, Havikoro, Circle of Fire, Rhythm Bugz, Kamel, el Nino, Supernaturalz, LA Breakers, Stylelements and Massive Monkees!
International Battle of the Year 2006 - Some of the most creative and innovative bboy showcases I've ever seen, really expanded my mind to new possibilities. Also 0 Trip's House Showcase and Salah's Funk Showcase were rediculous, I got to go see this event in germany in person and it remains one of the best events I've ever seen!
Brooklyn Terry - Footwork Fanatic - Terry is one of the sickest house footworkers on the planet, if you like house this dvd will inspire you and make you redefine whats possible.
BBoy Storm's Footwork Fundamentals - This is the best style and footwork training video I've ever seen, hands down. Storm is a legend, his crew battle squad was the german equivalent to the US Rocksteady crew and he kept BBoying alive from when it died in the 80's to when it blew up again in the late 90's. Storm is not only a great dancer, he's an amazing teacher and he covers almost 100 different rare footwork and floorwork moves and combinations in this well produced dvd.
UK BBoy Championship 2007 - This double dvd covers great 1 on 1 BBoy battles, some of the best crew battles I've ever seen and popping battles too. This event has been going on and growing for years and now pulls the best street dancers worldwide. If you like signature bboying and funk styles this bad boy will blow your mind.
Juste Debout 2007 - There are many strong house, hip hop and funk styles event events out there. Juste Debout is without a doubt, the best in the world. The level of polish and creativity from all the dancers is a completely different level than other events, and the best dancer at most other events would get schooled by the first out at Juste Debout. If you want to see what Popping, Locking, Hip Hop Dance and House Dancing should really look like JD defines it.
Freshest Kids - This in depth documentary on the birth, history and evolution of bboying is incredibly informative and well done. It includes interviews and footage with many of the pioneers that created bboying both back in the day, and in modern day. It really helps explain where BBoying came from, what defines it and where it's going.
These are some of the best videos I've seen lately but I want to hear what videos you couldn't live without. Let the worldwide hip hop community know whats good, I'll look forward to hearing your opinions and posting more of my own. Peace - Barry, President, CypherStyles.com, Inc.
